George A Tinnerman Invitational in Burlington, March 5-6th, 2011

_jan0102It was another outstanding effort by the Tier II divers at the last meet of the season before Provincials. Nearly every diver came home with a medal, and for Sammie, Justen, Justine, Alten, Lise, Paul, Brayden, Lukas and Abel, their successes included achieving personal bests. And for first time competitor, Karen, it was a chance to show her skills on 1m.

After taking off some time to recover from surgery, Abel came back with a vengeance to win gold on 3m – the first time he ever competed it at the Tier II level! Alten competed a beautiful reverse on 1m, for which he was given a 9 – the highest score given to a KW diver at this meet.

Despite arriving to a chilly pool deck on Sunday morning (the heat in the pool facility had been accidently turned off all night) the Tier III divers pulled themselves together and dove very well regardless.

Next up is Provincials in Toronto (May 14-15th) and then Novice (Tier II) Nationals right here at the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Center on the weekend of June 18-19th. Congratulations to all divers – it has been a most successful season so far and the Meet Results page tells the story.

For all scores and placements, please refer to the results on our Tier II page.
