This year’s Junior National Diving Competition was held in Victoria B.C. this July.
The K|W Diving Club had 4 athletes competing in different age divisions, and we held our own with fierce competition:

Kitchener-Waterloo Diving Club competed at the Tier II Provincials last weekend, and came out on top by winning the overall team points total and being name TOP CLUB at the meet. This is the first time since 1995 that the K/W Diving Club has won this award.

The Tier I Ontario Diving Provincial Competition was held this weekend at the Olympium in Etobicoke. This year’s Provincials were a qualifying meet for the upcoming Junior and Senior Provincials, and the trials for Canada Games this summer. The Kitchener Waterloo Diving Club had 9 divers attend, and returned with an impressive record of Diving.

The last weekend in February was the Level I Forest City Invitational. It was a great meet and we brought along some of our level II divers who were ready to compete at level I. The divers had a great time with great results and it was a great meet. (did I say great too much?)

The same weekend our level II divers were in Ottawa, three of our level I divers were competing at the Senior Nationals in Calgary. It was a large meet with long days and many competitors. Our divers had great fun, great practice and a great experience.

In mid-February, it was on to our Nation’s Capital for our Tier II Divers and what a great time they had! The meet was a great success and many of them had time to site see, too.

Three of our level I divers travelled to Victoria to compete at the Sting Competition. All three of them had great success at this meet with the following results.
Kate Brechun competed in the Open age group, placing 7th on 1M and 21st on 3M.

At the end of January, we sent 18 divers to compete in the Level II/III Meet in Scarborough. Our divers did extremely well in each of their divisions! We certainly brought home the bling.
