National Coach - Rob Wells
Coaching Experience: Rob started out as a diver, along with coaching Learn to Dive in Montreal, about 13 or 14 years ago. He Coached Learn to Dive at Pointe Claire, and at a Recreational Club just outside Montreal. In 1997, he moved to London, where he continued both his diving and his coaching at the learn to dive and Recreational Level. He dove to Gold at Provincials in 2000, winning the title of Outstanding Synchro Diver with his partner.
Role as a National Coach: Rob began coaching full time in 2000, in London, Ontario. He has coached many divers who have qualified for Nationals, he has had many top twelve finalists at Nationals, and EVERY year, he has had a diver attain the title of Provincial Age Group Champion. At the last two winter games, his diver(s) were gold Medalists. In 2005, at the last Canada Games, Rob had two Divers named to the Canada Games team, and won a bronze medal at the games. In 2006, he took a diver to the Canada-U.S Challenge Rob joined the K|W Diving Team, at the beginning of the 2006 Season. For the 2006-2007 season, he had two divers who were named Provincial Champions in their age group. He had two divers to qualify for Junior Nationals, two divers to qualify for senior nationals. At Age group nationals, one of his divers won Gold on Tower and Silver on 3 meter.
Characteristics: Rob is devoted to the sport of diving, and his divers know it. They know that he is willing to give 110%, and from that, they follow his lead. Every achievement that the divers reach, is a goal won and shared by their coach. He is a true coach.
