Rob Wells

Head Coach: National program

 Coaching Experience

In 1995 Rob began coaching Learn to Dive at the Pointe Claire Diving Club and at a recreational diving club just outside of Montreal. In 1997, he moved to London and coached both Learn to Dive and recreational diving at the Forest City Diving Club. He became a full time coach in London in 2000, coaching at the national level.

Role as National Head coach

Rob began coaching at the KW Diving Club in 2006. His primary coaching responsibility within the dive club is focused on the National level athletes, and the overall development of the competitive program. In order for this to occur, a strong foundation of recreational and transitional programs is necessary. Rob is also an active member of the KWDC Board of Directors. He is directly involved with the development of all programs and coaches, as well as the future of the club.

Coaching accomplishments

Rob has taken National level divers to both the Junior and Senior National Championships over the course of his tenure as Head Coach. His athletes consistently achieve top twelve placings, and have earned numerous medals and National Championships. He has had a diver on the Junior National team, and his divers are routinely identified for high performance development programs by Diving Plongeon Canada, and Dive Ontario. Rob’s divers have competed, and medalled, internationally at the Junior Pan Am Games, the Dresden International Meet in Germany, the British Elite Jr. Championships, and the Madrid Open Diving Age Group meet. Most recently, Rob had a diver earn Outstanding Diver of the Meet at the Speedo Junior Development Nationals in 2019. All of these accomplishments speak to the commitment Rob makes in developing a strong relationship with his athletes. Rob’s passion for helping divers achieve their personal goals is outstanding and recognized by both his divers and their families.
