Kitchener Waterloo has always been a predominately male club, in a sport that is usually dominated by females. At any meet we attend, our boys far outnumber the competition, and our divers tend to dominate the field. This year, we also have a couple of up and coming girls, starting at a very young age, who are also making their mark in the diving world.
This season, a number of our tier II divers attended the Capital City Meet, held in our Nation’s Capital this February, and came home with stellar results.
The results for the meet were as follows:
In the girls 11 and under, Aniko placed 4th and Raine placed 5th in the 1 meter. They both competed on three meter with Raine taking home the Silver and Aniko placing 4th.
In the 12 and 13 year old boys group, Paul dove Level I and took home the gold on 1 meter. In the same age group, Alten dove Level II, taking home the silver. The boys both dove Level II three meter, with Paul taking home the gold and Alten the bronze.
In the Boys B event, divers age 14 and 15, K|W had three divers. Brawn Brent and Brayden taking gold, silver and bronze respectively on the 1 meter and the 3 meter events both!
Also in the B division at Level III, Lukas took gold on 1 meter and gold on the 3 meter.
Our diver’s next meet will be in Burlington at the Spring Break Invitational. Check back in March to see more amazing results!
