Spring Break Invitational – Tier II divers take Burlington by Storm

dscf6381Each year, the Gaquatic Diving Club hosts the Spring Break Invitational for all Tier II and Tier III divers in the province. This year’s event saw 100 competitors attending from all over the province. Divers came from Ottawa, Etobicoke, Burlington, London, Toronto, and our own Kitchener-Waterloo. 18 divers attended from our club. All the divers dove so well, again placing themselves on the podium time and again.

The results for our entire club were stellar.

In A division Khoral took 1st place finish at 179.90

Shannon took the bronze in her level at 179.90

Ben and Bradley competed AII with Ben 1st at 258.80 and Bradley 2nd at 192.40.

Cassandra was our lone female B diver, at her first competition. She did very well coming in 3rd with a score of 186.45.

Our “BB” Boys (Brent, Brawn and Brayden) - were a triple crown again. On 1 meter Brawn was 1st (231.95), Brent was 2nd (222.75) and Brayden was 3rd (208). Abel rounded out the 1 meter taking 4th (174.45). On the three meter it was gold for Brawn (208.45), silver for Brent (199.10) and bronze for Brayden (193.25)

Our Tier III B boys were Michael and Lukas. They competed the 1 meter, with Michael 1st (166.35) and Lukas taking 4th (144.65).

“C” division saw Paul compete Level I on the 1 meter, taking silver (227.65). Alten and Gabriel competed Level II on the 1 meter and were 1st (179.4) and 2nd (149.15), respectively. All three met up on the 3 meter with Paul taking gold (178.05), Alten taking silver (164.15) and Gabriel finishing the hat trick at bronze (132.85)

Last but certainly not least, the young “D” divers. Aniko and Raine dove 1 meter with Aniko 1st (133.35) and Raine 3rd (122.65). They also competed 3 meter with Aniko taking silver (118.60) and Raine taking bronze (118.10).

Alex dove Level III with a 1st place finish on 1 meter (98.45) and a 2nd place finish on 3 meter (119.10).

Jacob was our sole Level II D, and competed the 1 meter for a gold (130.10)

The next meet for all our divers will be the Tier II provincials, which will be hosted by our very own club at the Waterloo Rec Center. The provincials will take place on June 19th and 20th. Watch for news on the times and schedule for this event, and come out and see our amazing divers in action.
