The K-W Diving Club is honoured to Remember the Memory of Marnie Tatham

Marnie passed away on Sunday, July 18th, 2010. A well-known mentor, teacher and coach, Marnie touched and influenced many people in the Canadian diving family and will be missed by everyone.
Marnie Tatham, was a Warrior and Athena diving coach at the University of Waterloo for 8 years. Marnie was inducted into the Waterloo Warriors Hall of Fame on March 20, 1987. Under her watch (1973-1980), the Warriors/Athena’s had five CIAU divers of the year while winning 14 provincial medals and 12 national medals.
Marnie, along with her husband Sid, constructed an outdoor diving facility out of a used hydro tower. Marnie operated a diving camp in her back yard (”Tatham’s Pond”) in Woodstock, Ontario. The facility has a complete compliment of spring boards and towers. The facility hosted many provincial, national and international competitors. Hundreds of divers who attended diving camps run by Marnie from throughout Canada, the US (even Brazil and Jamaica) had a top notch experience. More importantly, Marnie made an impact on many people who have continue her legacy to this day.
The 2011 Novice National Championship was blessed with the invitation to bring all of the Participants, Families and Friends to Tatham Pond to gather, swim and dive together in the Spirit that Marnie would have been most proud of.
